Paste a link, get a card

Drop a job URL into the header and press Enter. The page is fetched on the server and read apart into company, role, description and favicon — structured JobPosting data first, then OpenGraph and the page title, then a readability pass for the body copy, and only as a last resort a small model call to name the company and role.

  • Login-walled pages are a path, not an error. LinkedIn, Workday and most board indexes can't be read from outside — the card is still created and flagged needs text, and you paste the listing in.
  • Every field stays editable afterwards. Extraction is a head start, never the source of truth.
  • The same job found twice — through a search and through a company page — is recognised as one, matching on host and path with tracking parameters ignored.

  • Skipping a column doesn't lose the application. Any move into Applied, Interviewing or Offer counts as applying on that day — drag straight from New to Interviewing and the numbers still add up.
  • It's a readout, not a dashboard. Six numbers you can take in on the way past.

Companies you're watching, hiring or not

The second tab follows the places you'd like to work. Paste a careers page or an ATS board and the app names the company, resolves its domain and icon, and lists every posting on the page. Press Check — or Check all — whenever you want to know what's changed.

  • New roles are marked, not announced. An accent dot on the posting, a count on the card, a badge on the tab. Mark all seen clears them.
  • A role that comes off the page is kept and struck through with the date it vanished — the job you were too slow on is still a fact about that company.
  • Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters and Recruitee are read through their board APIs, because those pages are drawn in the browser and their HTML holds no jobs at all. Everything else is read from the page itself.
  • Add to board hands the company's name and domain to extraction — which is exactly what ATS pages tend not to state.

Every cover letter belongs to the job it was written for, and every draft is a version — nothing overwrites anything. Bring your own letter today: paste the text or load a .md file, and it behaves like any other version from there.

  • Live now: store, read, edit in place, switch between versions, copy as markdown, download as .md, and a letter pill on the card so you can see at a glance which applications still need one.
  • Editing saves a new version rather than replacing the old one. The draft you already sent stays exactly as it was sent.
  • Coming with the writer: generating a draft from scratch, plain-language revisions, and the PDF render. See the cover letter writer below.

A small Chrome extension puts the listing in front of you onto the board without copying a URL across — Add to New for something you're weighing up, Add to Applied for one you've already sent.

  • It reads pages the server can't. The rendered DOM goes along with the URL, so extraction runs on the page as you see it, signed in — the difference between a LinkedIn or Workday card arriving empty and arriving complete.
  • It tidies the address first: a search page with a posting open in the side panel is saved as that posting's own URL.
  • Already on your board? It says so, and which column — rather than adding it twice.
  • Today it talks to a local install. Pointing it at your hosted account, and managing its access token from Settings, lands with the hardening release.

Sign in with Google; your board is seeded and it's yours. Every read and write is scoped to your user at the database layer, not by a check someone could forget to write — another account's job simply isn't found.

  • Access tokens for the extension and anything else you want to talk to the API with, created in Settings and shown once.
  • Editable board columns, and a look at which models a generation run uses, also in Settings.
  • A real privacy policy and terms — including what happens to Gmail data if you ever connect it, written before the feature ships rather than after.

The cover letter writer

The reason the app is called what it's called. One click on a job card and it researches the company first, then writes a letter in your voice, from your actual history — not a template with the company name dropped in. Expect a minute or two, with the progress shown as it goes.

  • Say what to mention. A free-text line before it starts — a referral, someone you know there, the one project you want leading the letter.
  • Revise in plain language. "Shorter." "Lead with the NYT connection." "Less about the team, more about the craft." Each pass is a new version; the old ones stay.
  • Your own key, encrypted at rest, with a validation ping when you save it — so your letters are your spend and nobody else's quota.
  • Runs are durable: close the tab mid-write and it keeps going, with a cancel button and a sweeper for anything that stalls.

The writer is only as good as what it knows about you. Upload a résumé and a few letters you're proud of, and the app builds a story bank — the projects, numbers and turns of phrase that make a claim yours — plus a read on how you actually write.

  • Every story stays editable, and the app asks about the gaps it notices rather than inventing something to fill them.
  • Voice calibration from your own past letters, so a draft sounds like you on a good day, not like a language model being enthusiastic.
  • A short onboarding before your first letter — because a letter written from an empty profile isn't worth sending.

The letter, in your own letterhead

A finished draft renders straight into your designed PDF template — your typeface, your rule, your footer — named the way you already name them, and ready to attach to the application form.

  • The text stays text. An applicant tracking system parses what it can read, not what it renders, so the output extracts cleanly.
  • Rebuilding a version replaces its own file instead of piling up _2, _3 copies — but a new version gets its own.
  • It warns rather than fails: the letter runs past one page, the template moved, the licensed font isn't installed.
  • Today this runs on a local install only. Per-account templates are what makes it hosted.

Email checking, on the card that's waiting for it

Connect Gmail read-only and employer replies show up where the application already lives: a count on the card, an Emails section in its panel, and a click straight through to the message in Gmail. No more searching your inbox for a company name you half remember.

  • Matching is explainable, not a guess. A plain scorer weighs the sending domain, the reply-to, an ATS relay plus the company's name, and overlap with the role title — and every match stores the reason it was made.
  • Domain alone would fail, because employers send through Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby — and no-reply@greenhouse-mail.io is the same address for all of them.
  • Every card listens, whatever column it's in. A rejection is precisely the mail that arrives after you've given up on one.
  • Dismissing a wrong match is permanent. That message can never re-match, and its whole thread goes quiet.
  • Rescan re-decides every stored email against the board as it stands and reads back to your earliest application — for mail filed under the wrong employer, or a confirmation that arrived before you added the job. Your own corrections are never touched.
  • Only sender, subject, snippet and date are stored. Never a message body.

Checking that happens without you

Right now nothing crawls unless you press a button — deliberate, but it means the board is only as fresh as your last visit. Scheduled checking moves the work to the server: your watched companies re-read on a schedule, Gmail syncs whether or not the tab is open, and long jobs report progress instead of blocking the page.

  • Check all becomes a real background run — start it, leave, come back to the count of what's new.
  • Crawling gets polite about it: a proper user agent, a rate limit per host, and a shared cache so two companies on one ATS don't ask twice.

Limits, safety, and the extension on your hosted board

The unglamorous release. Every URL you paste is fetched by a server, which is worth being careful about, and every account should be protected from any other account's bad day.

  • Fetching is fenced in — private and loopback addresses refused, redirects followed by hand, size caps and a content-type allowlist.
  • Per-account rate limits on adding URLs, crawling and letter generation, plus origin checks on anything that writes.
  • Uploaded résumés sit behind an authenticated route, never a public link.
  • The extension gets a proper home in Settings — create, name and revoke its tokens, and point it at your hosted board instead of a local install.
